Anna Kerenina inspired Photo Shoot

Daniel and I had the utmost pleasure of meeting Cody and Tiffany Tolmen (Hunter Ryan Photography) after they participated in the Naples Zoo Photo Shoot-out last year. They sent me the nicest card with a CD of all of the images – so I was like, who are these people and how nice is it that they sent me a card! Daniel and I then invited them to the salon so we could meet them in person. We liked them so much, that we came up with an idea to do a photo shoot that was inspired by the book/movie Anna Kerenina.

So we started thinking of ways to bring the feeling of Russia to the sunny beaches of Florida. It was not as easy as you all might think – it took some planning. Speaking of planning – Tiffany chose Stephanie from Along Came Stephanie to lend her expertise to this shoot – did a great job, right? After figuring out who we were going to use to guide the direction of the shoot the rest of the vendors all started to fall into place. We had some AMAZING flowers by Kevin from Botanicals on the Gulf, the PERFECT cake from Kakes by Karen, the CHICEST invitations from DM Paper Designs, and we can’t forget the AWESOME tents that Sperry Tents lent us for the day – pretty cool, right?

Now, lets talk about the hair and makeup. We were thrilled to be working with Lorena and Robert (our models) that always make our work easy 😉 Daniel wanted for Lorena: big, voluminous hair that looks tousled on top. Dan started with a classic “set” with rollers under the drier. then he brushed it out slightly, gave it an amazing tease, and then put it all up in a “Gibson” which was perfect for this look. I kept her makeup very clean, put some long lashes on Lorena and then some lipgloss on her eye lids to make it look more “glowy”. I did smoke out the eyes a bit – but most of that was done with the lighting.

This photo shoot was actually published a ton of times (which we were SUPER thrilled about) on The Two Bright Lights Blog, High InStyle, Chic Bride, Savvy Deets Bridal, Elegant Wedding Magazine Online, Something Turquiose,  In Bliss, One Wed, and Trendy Bride.
