Published in STYLE ME PRETTY – Yacht Engagement Shoot

Salon Tease Yacht Engagement Photo ShootHere is a little beauty that we were absolutely thrilled to be a part of – it had all of the things that I love: a gorgeous couple, an amazing locale, great styling, and a team that I loved our credits to be added to. The theme for this shoot was clean, chic and (of course) nautical. You can’t do an awesome shoot on a yacht in Miami without being a little nautical chic 🙂

So, let’s talk about the hair.

For the look we had to create something that was casual that could easily be seen as elegant with a simple change of outfit. A wrapped ponytail is the perfect solution for a situation like this. By adding volume on top and making a smooth “bump” it adds a touch of chic, then wrapping the base not only hides the band used to secure the ‘do but also adds uniformity to the style and gentle curls in the tail then elevates the style into something more than just the pedestrian utility of a blah ponytail. Who knew that so much thought went into something that looks so simple?

I want to give a huge shout out to Megan for her awesome job that she did on the style that she created for this shoot!

Now, let’s talk a little bit about the makeup.

I did three things for this makeup – 1. Big eyes 2. Tan, clean skin 3. Glowing cheeks with glossy lips. The perfect trio for this outdoor shoot. The easiest way to make eyes look bigger is by enhancing the lash-line on the top AND the bottom by using think, fluttery false lashes on top and copious amounts of waterproof mascara on the bottom. The skin was created by keeping the color palate in the warm golden tones, it keeps the skin looking healthy and tan. Use a similar shade on the lips and the cheeks for continuity and adding shine or highlight keeps it looking fresh and vibrant.
